FAQ
When
is the comic going to update?
The answer to this is usually...soon. We aim to update this comic every
week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but alas sometimes other pressing and urgent obstacles
(such as eating chocolate and drinking wine) present themselves, and
the update is *shock, horror*...delayed!
Why
hasn't the comic updated yet?
Most probably because we are drinking wine and eating chocolate.
The
comic didn't update yesterday...will it ever, EVER update again?
In all likelihood, yes. It depends really on just how much wine and
chocolate is available. And whether JJ can be persuaded to draw something
BEFORE the beginning of the next century.
Will
Desert Rocks ever update again?
Well, that'd be telling.
How
long will the story be?
As a novel, the story, still undergoing some revision, is around 300
pages long. Although the comic is not yet very far in, we estimate it
will conclude in around 750 pages, divided into four parts, or volumes.
What
inspired you to write this morbid and bitter tale?
In short, deep and terrible cynicism... ^^
Where
are the characters in the front page image?
Gothenburg, a coastal city in Sweden.
Are
any of the characters based on people you know in real life?
No, but elements of several of our friends' personalities have influenced
characterisation.
Will
The Broken Mirror ever be published?
We certainly hope so; though it depends on its popularity as a webcomic.
But this time the pictures are being drawn in a high enough resolution
for print.
What
technique is used to draw the pages of The Broken Mirror?
The pictures are first sketched with pencil, then coloured In Photoshop
CS2 with some magical brushes JJ found. Email him for the link.
How
long does it take you to complete one page?
Between eight and ten hours, depending on the presence of architecture
and crowd scenes, both of which JJ dislikes. ;)
Do
you do link exchanges?
Yes and no. We don't link exchange just for the hell of it...we have
to like your stuff...and you should like ours. But if you'd like one
or both of us to check out your comic, please do email us and we'll
be happy to take a look. There's no other way in which to happen upon
everything that's good amongst the huge number of webcomics available
right now.
What's
this Domino thing then? Isn't that the place that renders pizza unto
hungry man?
Gah! Since when did Dominoes copyright the entire concept of anything
in any way related to what originally was and essentially is a game
involving the identification of a wooden counter that has upon at least
one of its sides a number of dots corresponding with at least one side
of one of the wooden counters placed in front of you, carefully concealed
from your opponent?
Is
there a tutorial available demonstrating JJ's artistic technique?
Aye, indeed there will be, shortly; just go to the main menu, choose
'extras' and then 'tutorial'.
